Should I put nitrogen or regular air in my car’s tires? This is the question many drivers have – especially after buying a new car. The answer isn’t simple, but nuanced and more based your preference in the end. (see our other article on this topic)
Nitrogen is often touted as being better than regular air for car tires, but the jury is still out on whether this is actually the case. Some studies have suggested that nitrogen-filled tires can last longer than those filled with regular air, as nitrogen molecules are larger and less prone to leak out of the tire.
However, it’s important to note that air still contains nitrogen and that the difference between the two is relatively minimal. Ultimately, it’s up to the individual to decide whether the additional cost of nitrogen is worth the potential benefits.
