Summary

ON YOUR VEHICLE, AN UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFT TO A LOWER GEAR MAY OCCUR AND CAUSE AN ABRUPT WHEEL SPEED REDUCTION. THIS CAN CAUSE THE REAR TIRES TO SLIDE UNTIL THE VEHICLE SPEED SLOWS DOWN. YOU MAY EXPERIENCE A MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP MIL ANDOR A POWERTRAIN WARNING LAMP WRENCH SYMBOL IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER PRIOR TO AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT OCCURRING.

Remedy

A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS AUTHORIZED YOUR DEALER TO REPROGRAM THE PCM FREE OF CHARGE.
