Moonroofs, Sunroofs: Are They the Same Thing?

A sunroof is a type of vehicle roof panel that can open to let in sunlight and fresh air. Sunroofs can be manually operated, or they can be motorized, allowing them to be opened and closed at the press of a button.

A moonroof, on the other hand, is a type of glass panel that can be opened to let in light, but not air. Moonroofs are typically motorized, but can also be manually operated.

Moonroofs are generally larger than sunroofs, and are often tinted for added privacy. The main difference between a sunroof and a moonroof is that the sunroof lets in both light and air, while a moonroof only lets in light.
