A HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) is a type of vehicle that combines a traditional internal combustion engine with an electric motor to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. HEVs use both energy sources to power the vehicle, while the electric motor provides additional torque when needed, such as during acceleration.
The fuel efficiency of a HEV is typically higher than that of a traditional gasoline-powered vehicle, and the emissions are lower. HEVs also offer the ability to recharge the battery using the energy generated from braking, which is known as regenerative braking. This helps reduce emissions even further and increase fuel efficiency.
