SUVs can be very tall vehicles – especially the extended-length models – so any tech that helps keep you in a straight line during traffic, is a good. Road Departure Mitigation System (RDMS) technology is an advanced safety feature that works to help drivers stay in their lanes while driving.

It uses cameras, radar, and other sensors to detect when a vehicle is drifting out of its lane and can provide an alert to the driver to take corrective action. The system can also apply brakes to the wheels on the side of the vehicle that is drifting, helping to correct the vehicle’s trajectory and bring it back into the lane.

This technology helps to reduce the possibility of a driver running off the road, potentially preventing a crash. The iihs institute says these driver safety technologies really lower accidents – that’s a great plus
